Drone Booking bid farewell to 2022 with its most ambitious party to date. On December 3rd in a memorable night, we received directly from the United States the producer and dj Detroit In Effect, aka Dj Maaco. Tameko J. Williams, undisputed reference of the Detroit scene, stopped by Cadavra Club leaving a set to remember along with two representatives of the agency: Seventh Corp (AKA Aiken) in the Hole and Mendi giving a unique touch to the Lounge.
The last Fly Dance of the year started in The Lounge with a fresh, varied and extensive session by Mendi. Her all night long on the top floor was a lesson of experience, good work and gallons of a dj trained and developed in the scene of the capital. Techno of changing and playful revolutions, classic and synthetic electro… A breath of fresh air from the first hour, with casual and serene tones very conducive to the context.
Downstairs the story was somewhat different. Aiken, as Seventh Corp, gave a history lesson of techno and electro to warm up the dancefloor. His set, which opened and closed the night, was built around edgy, original and US tracks, setting up the booth for Tameko and later leading the crowd into ecstasy on a night that was reminiscent of the true underground of a few decades ago.
Detroit In Effect was, by all accounts, the star of the night. Demonstrating his talent even scratching, taking the microphone to encourage the clubbers who filled the room, playing some of his best known tracks… The American dj performed an impeccable session. The video we leave you at the end proves it: as if taken from another era, Madrid vibrated to the rhythm of dance music as it was born on the international scene.
